We believe that recovery is not only about reducing harm but also rediscovering creativity, connection, and hope.
Recovery Through Music exists to create meaningful opportunities for people affected by problematic drug and alcochol use, poor mental health, imprisonment, and social exclusion to rebuild their lives. Our purpose is to provide inclusive spaces where individuals can engage with music and creativity as tools for growth and transformation. By fostering self-expression, active listening, and shared music-making, we help participants strengthen their confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging.
We work in both prison and community settings, bridging the gap between incarceration and reintegration, and ensuring continuity of support for people in recovery. Through public engagement and partnership, we also seek to challenge stigma, amplify the voices of people with lived experience, and celebrate recovery as a source of strength and inspiration.
At the heart of our work is the belief that everyone has the right to be heard, to create, and to contribute. By connecting recovery with creativity, Recovery Through Music enables participants to transform their personal stories into instruments of change. For themselves, for their communities, and for wider society.
